KATHMANDU, FEB 8: As intraparty dispute drags on even two months after the elections, the CPN-UML is gearing up to finalize its  chief ministerial nominees through elections. UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) have already agreed to form governments  in four and two provinces respectively. It is still unclear which party will form the government in Province 2, where coalition talks are underway.

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Over a dozen parliamentary constituencies are set to witness fierce poll battles, as central level leaders of some influence and stature have filed their candidacies from rival alliances and  parties.

DANG, July 6: Some former parliamentarians who contested the posts of mayor in Rapti zone during the recent local polls have been defeated.

BHAKTAPUR, May 22: Madan Sundar Shrestha, CPN-UML mayoral candidate backed by Nepal Workers Peasants Party(NWPP) in line with an electoral alliance forged between the two parties has emerged victorious in the race for mayor of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

NAWALPARASI, May 18: Nepali Congress (NC) mayoral candidate Chandra Bahadur Rana has been elected mayor of Madhyabindu Municipality with 10,996 votes, compared to 10,065 votes for his closet rival CPN-UML mayoral candidate Bhim Lal Adhikari.

DHADING, May 18: Nepali Congress candidate Binod Timilsena has won the race for chief of Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality with 5954 votes, compared to 5930 votes for his closest rival UML candidate Ram Prasad Adhikari.

KATHMANDU, May 18: Nepali Congress (NC) mayoral candidate Mohan Basnet has been elected in the race for the mayor of Dakshinkali Municipality in Kathmandu district.

KASKI, May 17: Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have won the races for chief  and deputy chief of Annapurna Rural Municipality respectively in Kaski district.
