KATHMANDU, March 25: Nepal Telecom (NTC) has urged its customers to swiftly upgrade their landline telephone services from traditional copper wires to modern fiber technology. The NTC has announced the cessation of services reliant on copper wires effective March 31.

KATHMANDU, July 9: Nepal Telecom (NT) has started switching PSTN (landline) telephone service to IP-based network. Issuing a statement, the state-owned operator said that Mahendra Man Gurung, secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) inaugurated the new technology by making a call from the NT's telephone exchange at Gwarko.
