Locust invasion in Pyuthan again

PYUTHAN, July 14: There has been a locust invasion again in the district of Pyuthan. Swarms of locusts can be seen in almost all parts of the district.

KATHMANDU, July 12:  A swarm of locusts from India has entered Nepal yet again on Sunday.

KATHMANDU, July 10: The locusts that are currently at Rajasthan, India, are heading toward the northeast, posing a risk of entering Nepal, according to experts.

KATHMANDU, July 4: Sahadev Humagain, coordinator of the government-formed Locusts Prevention and Management Taskforce said that there is a slim chance for the new locust swarm to enter Nepal unless the direction and speed of the wind change dramatically.

KATHMANDU, July 2: A locust swarm that is currently in the Indian side of the border areas might head towards Nepal, according to the Plant Quarantine and Pesticide Management Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD).

KATHMANDU, June 29: The government has said the swarms of locusts that entered Nepal on Saturday have not caused any big damage to the country’s crops.

KATHMANDU, June 28: Experts have projected that the recent outbreak of Locusts in Nepal may last for more than a month.
