KATHMANDU, July 18: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the ministry concerned to identify the problems facing the freed Kamaiyas and seek ways of addressing them.

KAILALI, July 19: Ramita Chaudhari, who lives at the Free Kamaiya Camp in Milanpur of Kailari Rural Municipality of Kailali district carries an identity card which says she is a 'freed Kamiya'.

TIKAPUR, May 10:  By collecting money through the social media, 13 youths have built a concrete building for a learning center at a settlement of former bonded laborers in Lamkichuha Municipality-1 of Tikapur.

KATHMANDU, August 28: Minister for Land Reforms and Management Gopal Dahit has said remaining all freed Kamaiya (bonded laborers) would be rehabilitated within this current fiscal year.

KATHMANDU, July 17: Former kamalari(female indentured worker) Shanta Chaudhary has called on the concerned stakeholders to formulate and implement concrete development program aimed at depriving former kamaiyas(slaves who were forced to work under bonded labor system known as kamaiya system).
