ILAM, August 21: The split in the main opposition CPN-UML has led the party’s lawmakers and members to side with the faction they support. However, the lawmakers and members who were critics of the party’s chairperson KP Sharma Oli are now holding discussions after senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal took initiatives to register a new party. It is still not clear who they will support.
KATHMANDU, July 21: A day after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba reportedly talked over the telephone and assured former prime minister and a senior leader of the CPN-UML , who is undergoing treatment at a News-Dehli-based hospital, of bearing all the treatment expenses, former health minister Gagan Thapa has said that the government is not authorized to bear the treatment expenses of any former dignitary.
