KATHMANDU, Sept 18: Denouncing the arrest of journalists demanding the reinstatement of Radio Nepal journalists sacked on Monday, the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has demanded investigation into the incident. Nine journalists arrested by police were protesting against the sacking of three journalists from the state-owned Radio Nepal in Doti.

KATHMANDU, Sept 5:While expressing concern over the use of strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP) as a tool to silence media on issues of corruption, the Sydney-based International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) Asia-Pacific has urged Nepal to ensure a mechanism to discourage such false lawsuits aimed at critical voices and investigative journalism.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) expressed its serious concern over the defamation lawsuit filed against Nagarik daily at Kathmandu District Court saying that it was intended to silence a daily newspaper in Kathmandu.
