NEPALGUNJ, March 2: A 16-year-old girl from Nepalgunj who was sold in India by her own maternal uncle has finally returned home. The girl, a resident of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis-2, was taken to India by her own maternal uncle from her home about 10 years ago when she was six years old.

KATHMANUD, Oct 11: Man Bahadur Tamang, 52, a permanent resident of Melamchi Municipality-6, has been arrested on the charge of trafficking a girl to India.

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Police have rescued a girl who was being taken by traffickers to India from the Nepal-India border near Jogbani area on Tuesday.  Police suspect human sacrifice may be the motive for trafficking the girl.

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: A probe carried out by Nepal Police has disclosed that illiterate Nepali girls are being trafficked to China with the use of fake marriage documents. According to the Anti-Human Traffic Bureau of Nepal Police, girls from remote mountain villages are trafficked to China. Police have stopped some of them at the airport.
