LAOS, July 24: Hundreds of people are missing and an unknown number dead after a dam collapsed in south-east Laos, state media reported.

KATHMANDU, July 15: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has predicted flash floods in the rivers of hilly districts due to incessant rains, urging people living near the river banks and surrounding areas to remain alert to such possibility.

KATHMANDU, July 13: The Nepal Flood Alert, an official account of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), has warned of flash floods in the rivers in the Kathmandu Valley.

Flash flood is common in Dharan-3, Kailash Path, since the last monsoon.  This is caused by a clogged drain resulted when crushed-stones, sand, and stones abrupt the water flow.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, July 3: Pakistani officials say flash floods overnight have killed 30 people in northern Pakistan, near the Afghan border.

BABIYACHAUR (MYAGDI), June 12: A flash flood which struck on Saturday night at Beni Bazaar caused damages to more than a hundred houses and retail shops while forcing the residents to stay awake all night.  The flood cascading from a higher ground above the settlement at 11 pm inundated the houses in Campus Chowk and Mangal Ghat. The flood laden with slush and stones broke into the houses.
