KATHMANDU, March 19: Nepal has witnessed a notable decline in the import of electric cars, jeeps, and vans, signaling a break in the growing trend.

KATHMANDU, March 6: Six aircraft and four helicopters have been grounded due to a dispute over the customs duty on spare parts. Almost two months ago, the aircraft were grounded due to an unresolved dispute between the Department of Customs (DoC) and the airline operator regarding the customs duty on the imported spare parts.

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Nepal’s earnings from exports stood only one-tenth of its import expenses in the first half of the current fiscal year.

While export earnings declined 7.23 percent, import expenses fell 3.09 percent in the first half of the current fiscal year compared to the same period of last year. In the review period, Nepal had a trade deficit of Rs 424.44 billion alone with India.

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: In the five months of the current fiscal year (FY), Nepal has imported 1,201 kg of gold worth Rs 9.97 billion. According to the import statistics from mid-July to mid-December published by the Department of Customs (DoC), the import of gold this year has decreased compared to the same period last year.
