GORKHA, Sept 1: Political parties and civil society leaders in Gorkha have expressed disappointment with the Election Constituency Delineation Commission (ECDC), over the demarcation of electoral constituencies.

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: After failing to forge consensus among the political parties on local restructuring, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has asked the commission formed to fix the number and boundaries of local bodies under the new federal setup to expedite its work so that the government can hold local polls by mid-April, 2017.

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: Parliament's Development Committee Wednesday asked the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) to determine the number of local units and delineate their borders to be applicable  under the new federal set up as soon as possible on the basis of clear criteria developed using scientific data.
