KATHMANDU, July 13: Cholera has been reported in six more children in the Kathmandu Valley. With this, the number of cholera cases in the Valley has reached 28.

KATHMANDU, July 6: Cholera has been confirmed in two more persons. According to the Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Chuman Lal Das, cholera patients were found in Hetauda and Changunarayan municipalities.

Apart from these initiatives, planning and warning of the District Administration Office (DAOs), health experts and the government, are the youths aware about this serious issue? Samiksha Shrestha of My City (Republica) talked to a few youths involved in different sectors of Kathmandu and Lalitpur metropolitan cities to find out how aware youths are about the spread of this disease and do they know the preventive measures and what to do if they get infected? There have never been genuine attempts to identify reasons and risk factors of cholera outbreak in Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 14: A diarrheal patient admitted at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH) last week was found infected with cholera. The hospital, which had examined a stool sample of the seriously ailing diarrheal patient, said that the deadly disease was confirmed in a patient from Chhetrapati area of Kathmandu.
