FRONTERA HIDALGO, Mexico, Jan 24: From the roadside stand where his family sells mole, barbecue and chicken stew, Miguel Ángel Vázquez has seen all the caravans of Central American migrants and asylum seekers stream past his front door in recent years, throngs of people driven to flee poverty and violence in hopes of a better life in the United States.

WASHINGTON DC, Oct 30: The White House is not joking around in its efforts to “deter” thousands of Central American migrants from entering the United States, announcing the deployment of 5,200 troops and dozens of “air assets” to the US-Mexico border.
