MEXICO CITY, July 22: Argentina's President Mauricio Macri has given the green light to the creation of several US military bases on his country's territory, media reported citing sources.

JERUSALEM, May 10: Iranian forces in Syria launched a rocket attack on Israeli army bases in the Golan Heights early on Thursday, Israel said, prompting one of the heaviest Israeli barrages against Syria since the conflict there began in 2011.

NEW DELHI, Jan 22: The Centre has begun final negotiations to buy Russia-built S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems for Rs 39,000 crore, The Times of India reported on Monday. According to the report, the government wants to operationalise the deal by the end of FY2018-19. If the deal is inked, it will be one of the biggest arms contract with Russia, added the report.

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of Nepal Army Rajendra Chhetri on Friday inaugurated two more construction workforce security bases in Makwanpur district for the speedy construction of the Kathmandu-Tarai Expressway Project.

DANG/RUKUM, May 22: While the government was preparing to conduct local elections back in 1992, Jhakku Prasad Gharti of Triveni, Rukum, was instructed by his Communist party to protest against the election.  The local administration arrested him and put him behind the bars for two months on charge of obstructing the polls.
