KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Brushing aside criticisms that the current government was insensitive toward the concerns of the northern neighbor, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat clarified that the government is fully considerate toward the sensitivities of both India and China.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on Saturday (today) welcomed the adoption of a Security Council resolution which states that the establishment of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territory occupied since 1967 have “no legal validity,” constitute a “flagrant violation” of international law and are a “major obstacle” to a two-State solution and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace.

Rupee appreciates, gold shines

KATHMANDU, July 30: Nepali rupee gained 10 paisa against US dollar this week as the Indian currency, with which rupee is pegged, gained value against the greenback. Gold price, on the other hand, increased by Rs 430 per 10 grams over the week.

KATHMANDU, July 9: Nepali rupee lost 1 paisa against US dollar this week as the Indian currency, with which rupee is pegged, lost value against the greenback. Price of gold, on the other hand, went up by Rs 90 per 10 grams over the week.

Nepali rupee gained 66 paisa against US dollar this week as the Indian currency, with which rupee is pegged, appreciated against the greenback. Gold price, on the other hand, remained unchanged over the week at Rs 50,155 per 10 grams.
