GANDAKI, Sept 21:  Three hundred and eighty-seven vultures were found at Pokhara and its surrounding areas, according to a vulture census recently conducted by Pokhara Bird Society (PBS).

BAITIDI, March 14: The vultures known as nature's scavengers are alarmingly on the verge of extinction with dwindling nesting habitats compounded by a host of other factors in the hill districts of Sudurpaschim including Baitadi.

JAJARKOT, Feb 29: A rare species of bird, which used to be found in other districts of Nepal, has been spotted in Jajarkot district for the first time. This is a typical species of vulture recently seen in Jajarkot and is just another addition to the list of rare animals and birds found in this district.

SIRAHA, June 6: More than a dozen endangered vultures are spotted at Balankhola in the district. The grey vultures are found here for two weeks, said a local Lalit Gupta.

NAWALPARASI, March 13: A vulture conservation campaign has been initiated by setting up an environment to provide safe food to the vultures in Nawalparasi (east to Bardaghat-Susta) district.  In its bid to conserve the vultures, Jatayu Restaurant, the first of its kind for vultures in Asia, has been setup at Kawasoti Municipality-8 to collect foods for vultures.

JARKOT June 17: The white-rumped vulture, an endangered species, has been spotted in Jajarkot district. The species of the scavenger that was disappeared from sight for the past two years, spotted again at Barekot Rural Municipality-1, said Gobinda Singh, life-time member of the Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN) and vet technician at the District Livestock Office.

CHITWAN, April 6: The preserved vulture is to be left free in new natural areas to increase the number of disappearing species.
