KATHMANDU, Jan 18: The Government of Nepal and the United Nations in Nepal jointly organized the first annual meeting of the Joint Steering Committee of the Nepal UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027.

As people across the world become more conscious of the harmful impacts of fossil fuels on the environment, their interest in renewable energy as a sustainable alternative is bound to grow. KATHMANDU, June 5: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Ncell Axiata Limited have entered into a partnership to promote sustainable development solutions, including through promotion of cycling for healthy lives and cities in Nepal. UNDP Resident Representative Ayshanie Medagangoda Labe and Ncell CEO Andy Chong signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) virtually to this effect on June 4.

KATHMANDU, July 14: Nepal presented its second voluntary national review (VNR) report at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development, convened under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) on Monday.

International Day of Charity 2018

In recognition of the significant role that charities and individuals have undertaken to alleviate human ‎suffering and humanitarian crises, the UN General Assembly, under resolution A/RES/67/105PDF, has designated the 5th of September as the International Day of Charity.‎ This date was chosen as it is the anniversary of the death of Mother Teresa, and the resolution is, in part, a tribute to her work and dedication to charitable causes.
