KATHMANDU, May 19: About 400 people have climbed Mt Everest in less than a week after the start of spring climbing this year on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, April 9: A total of 197 individuals have received government approval to climb Mount Everest during the spring season this year.

KATHMANDU, March 20: A total of 50 mountaineers have taken permits to ascend Himalayan peaks in the spring season.

KATHMANDU, March 29: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has issued climbing permits to 128 people this spring climbing season so far. A total of 16 teams have received permits to scale various mountains and peaks across the country. The DoT has collected over USD 218,600 in royalty from issuing climbing permits as of Monday.

Spring is all about the grandeur of nature. The red and pink rhododendron blossoms smile effusively against the snow white mountains. Simal(red silk cotton tree) blossoms wondrously beam by the frothy rivers in the vales. White, pink, purple and magenta petals of pear and peach blossoms flash shy smiles while embraced by the breeze by hamlets and creeks. The orchids magnificently sway by the tree branches in the woods. This is perhaps the best of all seasons to learn from nature and live accordingly.

KATHMANDU, June 14: A total of 659 people including Sherpa guides successfully climbed Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, in 2019's spring. According to the data given by the Department of Tourism (DoT), of the number scaling the peak, 378 were guides.

Mt Everest alone contributes Rs 361.4 million

KATHMANDU, May 14: An eight-member team of guides recorded the first summit of Mount Everest (8848 m) for this spring season of 2018 on Sunday. The team which started fixing the ropes on the way to the mountain’s top from mid-April scaled it on Sunday, opening the route for this season. The team includes eight guides­–Pasang Tenjing Sherpa, Pasdawa Sherpa, Lakpa Dendi Sherpa, Jen Jen Lama, Siddi Bahadur Tamang, Pemba Chhiri Sherpa, Tenzing Gyaljen Sherpa and Datuk Bhote. This is the first summit of this spring season.

I first met her three years back when it was spring. I saw her is the school’s ground. She was wearing a light blue-colored dress teamed up with blue jeans. I still remember that day when I was mesmerized with her big sparkling eyes, light pink lips and curly hair. At that time, I didn’t know she would become someone important in my life. I fell for her during my school days and many unusual incidents between us helped me to know her better.
