KATHMANDU, Dec 7: The search and rescue operation for world-record climber Tenzen Sherpa, who went missing in an avalanche on October 7, will commence next year. The current season for mountain climbing and search and rescue has concluded, and efforts to locate Tenzen and others will resume in the coming year, according to Thaneshwar Guragain, the General Manager of Seven Summit, the company affiliated with Sherpa.

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Three Nepali siblings- Mingma Sherpa, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, and Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, who left for Antarctica on December 13 last year in a bid to reach the South Pole and summit Mt Vinson have successfully fulfilled both their missions set at the continent.

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Three Sherpa brothers -  Mingma Sherpa, Chhang Dawa Sherpa and Lakpa Sherpa - who left for Antarctica in a bid to reach the South Pole and climb the highest point in the continent have become the first three siblings and the first Nepali expedition team to set foot on the South Pole.

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: As professional mountaineers in their own right, Mingma Sherpa, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, and Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, three siblings from Makalu Rural Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha district, have embarked on a journey to the South Pole in Antarctica in a bid to summit Mt Vinson (the highest peak in the continent of Antarctica) under the trio’s mission to conquer all seven summits across seven continents.
