In the pursuit of a truly equitable and just society, it is essential to recognize the crucial role of marginalized communities in the political arena. Among these often overlooked communities are persons with disabilities (PWDs), who constitute a substantial segment of the global population.

Crime in politics and politics in crime is a phenomenon prevalent in less developed countries. It has become a major obstacle in practicing democratic ideals and the rule of law in such countries. Transnational nature of crimes, professional characters of those involved in crimes and disproportionately huge profit generated through such acts have given rise to organized crime, making people with such backgrounds all powerful ‘non-state actors’ to influence the country’s vital policy.

Politics, a term that has unfortunately grown controversial due to its association with manipulation, deception, and competition, has been commonly misinterpreted and misused in many parts of the world.

KATHMANDU, June 15: Mahabir Pun, chairman of the National Innovation Center, has said that there is a possibility of him joining politics. I am in my late sixties. I must say that I lost my age just as millions of other people in Nepal who have had maddening and awful lives in spite of Nepal becoming a beautiful and resourceful country due to political power in the wrong hands for decades, and the country mishandled and mismanaged terribly.

In a modern democratic state, the police are meant to enforce the laws that preserve its core democratic values, such as the right to protection and security. However, the actions of the police force in Nepal, in recent times, have been called into question as they have been accused of violating the very principles they are tasked with.
