WASHINGTON, DEC 10: Senior U.S. and Canadian officials were set to fly to Mexico City on Tuesday to work on the final changes to a languishing North American trade pact that could clear the way for a vote in the U.S. Congress before the end of the year.

OTTAWA/WASHINGTON, Oct 1: The United States and Canada reached a deal on Sunday to salvage NAFTA as a trilateral pact with Mexico, beating a midnight deadline with agreements to substantially boost American access to Canada’s dairy market and protect Canada from possible U.S. auto tariffs, sources with direct knowledge of the talks said.

WASHINGTON, Aug 28: The announcement comes after the United States and Mexico reached a bilateral deal as a result of the North American Trade Agreement (NAFTA) negotiations. Canada has not joined the accord yet, but the talks between Washington and Ottawa continue.

The first round of negotiations over the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between the U.S. Canada and Mexico will take place August 16-20 in Washington D.C.
