SOLUKHUMBU, Oct 30: Mandeep Gurung, 34, an international mountain guide, who was on a search mission for Chheten Sherpa, was airlifted to Lukla for treatment. Sherpa, an expedition member from the victory team, has gone missing in the region since October 19.

KATHMANDU, Oct 22: The Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has rescued the stranded climbers and guide from Mera peak (6,470 metres) of Solukhumbu. They were stranded while returning to the base after scaling the peak.

SOLUKHUMBU, Oct 20: Ten tourists including two foreign nationals are stranded in the Mera Peak area due to snowfall followed by incessant rains.

ITAHARI, Oct 9: An 18-member academic expedition of Nepal Mountain Academy (NMA) has successfully scaled Nepal's tallest trekking peak, Mera Peak (6470m) at 9:48AM on Friday. The 18 summiteers include NMAs first batch of Bachelor of Mountaineering Studies (BMS).
