JANAKPURDHAM, April 14: The Janakpur-Jayanagar train service, which previously ran twice a day, will now run four times a day starting today. This expansion comes with the start of the new year 2080, as the Nepal Railway Company seeks to increase its services.

Of late, initiatives aimed at increasing connectivity with our dear neighbor are going on in full swing. As per media reports, work is on to develop a broad-gauge rail link connecting Jayanagar of India with Janakpur of Nepal. There are also plans to connect Biratnagar with Jogbani, Jalpaiguri with Kakarbhitta, Nautanwa with Bhairawa, Nepalgunj with the bordering Indian territory and Kathmandu with Raxaul via rail links.

KATHMANDU, Feb 6: How much does a train set for the Janakpur-Jayanagar Railway cost? The answer is tricky as the unit cost stated by officials of the Government of Nepal and the unit cost figure forwarded by the Government of India differ hugely.
