KATHMANDU, August 19: Harka Sampang Rai, the mayor of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City, has said that there is no garbage on the streets of Dharan. He said that the news on social media that Dharan, too, has waste management problems, is false.

DHARAN, May 25: To the astonishment of many, independent candidate Harka Raj Rai (Sampang) has won the election in Dharan to become the mayor of the sub-metropolitan city, defeating candidates from the major political parties.
