Conserving gharial is just one example of how hard it is to protect one species from extinction. There is no undo button once these species are lost.

CHITWAN, March 12: At least seven gharials in the Rapti River of Chitwan National Park (CNP) area have been found dead in this current fiscal year. Some of them were found entangled in fishing nets, which could have potentially killed them.

CHITWAN, March 3: The Chitwan National Park (CNP) has so far released 1,226 crocodile hatchlings of gharial species (gavialis gangeticus) into various rivers since 1981.
