Until a few months ago, I used to be very rigid about my food choices. I knew what I liked, strictly denied tasting something I thought I wouldn’t like and barely tried out new cuisines or dishes in general. The past me would’ve probably never agreed to trying out most East Asian cuisines. But after accompanying my friends to a few Japanese, Chinese and Korean restaurants, I’ve developed a liking for these cuisines. That is why I decided to try out Won Korean Restaurant.

We have all watched videos on Buzzfeed and Tasty of American barbeques and elaborate sandwiches that made us think, “these Americans really know how to work their meat”. However, when it comes to the availability of these authentic foods here in Nepal, the restaurants in Kathmandu don’t have much to offer, except for regular burgers and grilled chicken wings. And these, I must admit, look nothing like what we see online.

KATHMANDU, May 5: Targeting to promote Nepali cuisine in the international market, Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) has announced to unveil a cook book and video of 30 different items of Nepali traditional food. The unveiling program has been scheduled for May 7.
