KATHMANDU, May 9: The Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has split formally with a dissident leader of the party, Dharmendra Bastola forming a separate party named the CPN (Majority), accusing that the “Chand-led faction is getting stuck in the quagmire of parliamentary politics.”

KATHMANDU, April 27: The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), led by Netra Bikram Chand, has been split after the party sacked its secretariat members Hemanta Prakash Oli and Dharmendra Bastola, accusing them of going against the party's decisions.

KATHMANDU, March 5: Dharmendra Bastola, a senior leader belonging to Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplab’-led Nepal Communist Party (CPN), who was under police custody at District Police Office, Kavre,  was released on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Police have arrested Dharmendra Bastola, chief of Western Command of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplab’-led Communist Party of Nepal(CPN) from the bordering area of Makwanpur and Lalitpur districts on Tuesday afternoon, confirmed a senior police officer.
