KATHMANDU, Feb 16: The government has not received payments exceeding Rs 110 million from three casinos this year. Central Media, located in Kathmandu's Khichapokhari, Ratna Services, based in Biratnagar, and Venue Creation have failed to pay over Rs 119 million to the government, including royalty, renewal, and additional fees.

11 casinos owe Rs 3.5 billion in revenue

KATHMANDU, Sep 1: About a dozen casinos are in debt to the government, owing more than Rs 3.5 billion in revenue. Recent data from the Hotel Branch of the Department of Tourism (DoT) reveals that these casinos collectively owe the government a substantial sum of 3.6 billion 1.4 million rupees, as of the last fiscal year in 2022/23.

KATHMANDU, March 31: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has said that the government has collected Rs 1 billion in royalties and renewal fees of casinos and other hotel business fees. He said the licenses of three casinos that refused to pay the royalty were revoked.

KATHMANDU, March 25: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has given an ultimatum of five days to three casinos that have not paid their arrears to the government. The DoT has given an ultimatum to the three casinos to pay their dues of Rs 900.5 million within five days.
