KATHMANDU, Feb 14: The Government has decided to honour athletes, coaches and officials winning laurels for the nation in various competitions with cash prize worth Rs 15.6 million. The prize recipients include those from cricket, football, bodybuilding and South Asian Games.
Traditionally there was a mindset that only males go to a gym and work out to be a bodybuilder. But now females are also participating in such activities and representing Nepal at various international bodybuilding championships.
Mahesh Maharjan made us all proud as he secured gold on 10th World Bodybuilding and Physique sports Championships in 75 KG category, held in Thailand. Carrying the triangular-shaped Nepal’s flag on his shoulder during the award ceremony, Maharjan cried with joy when Nepal’s national anthem was played.

KATHMANDU, July 8: Nepal Byayam Mandir is set to hold the 14th Dharma Shree Nation-wide Open Bodybuilding Tournament on September 29 and 30 in the capital. The event carries highest prize in the domestic bodybuilding tournaments with the winner taking home Rs 500,000.
