BAJURA, April 28: At least 23 houses were completely damaged by an earthquake at Bichchhya of Himali Rural Municipality-2 in the district last night. An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale with its epicenter at Dahakot, Gaumul Rural Municipality, struck the district at 1.30AM last night.

Three cases have been registered at the District Police Office, Bajura in the Nepali month of Jyestha itself. Of them, two are accused of rape and one is accused of attempted rape.

BAJURA, Nov 11: Two men have been found dead at separate places in Bajura. The deceased have been identified as Jeevan Chadara, 18, of Jagannath Municipality-6 and Kehere Katuwal, 62, of Banegaon Koldanda of Budhiganga Municipality-4.

MARTADI, August 16: A dry landslide has continued for days at Swamikartik Rural Municipality-1 in the east northern belt in Bajura district, putting over 150 houses at risk of being washed away. The landslip at the lower part of Runi village and near Chhuddari village has caused risks of the Karnali river being blocked, said local residents.
