Yeti Airlines buys two ATR-72s from Bangladesh's Nova Air

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Yeti Airlines has bought two aircraft. With the addition of a new investor, the airline has purchased two ATR-72 aircraft from Bangladesh's Nova Air.


Sudarshan Bartaula, head of flight security and spokesperson of the company, said that both aircraft are ready to be brought to Kathmandu within 10 days.

“The aircraft has been purchased. Now the process of de-registration in Bangladesh has been taken forward. After that, the registration will be done," said the spokesperson, Bartaula.


The company currently has five aircraft. The company has been flying regularly to Bhairahawa, Pokhara, Janakpur, Biratnagar and Bhadrapur destinations through ATR-72 series aircraft.


According to the business plan of the company, Bartaula said that he plans to increase the number of aircraft to 10 by 2024 for flight expansion. Asian Life Insurance invested in the airline three months ago with a 49 percent stake.
