KATHMANDU, July 16: Young Communist League (YCL) Nepal, a youth organization of the ruling CPN (Maoist Centre), has demanded the government to dismiss Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari.
Submitting a seven-point memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, YCL demanded the dismissal of Governor Adhikari as he is still a member of the Finance Department of CPN-UML. The YCL also argued that his educational qualifications were also fake.
YCL also drew the attention of the government to immediately stop the decision to purchase weapons in the face of economic crisis and depleting foreign currency reserves in the country.
YCL has stated that the Constitutional Council Bill should be withdrawn and disaster management and emergency rescue as well as compulsory training should be arranged for enhancing the capacity of youths.
The youth wing of the Maoist Center also drew attention of the government to provide fertilizers and seeds on time to farmers, provide educational materials to students immediately and take effective measures to contain social distortions, anomalies and violence.
