KATHMANDU , March 6: Yamaha has said that it is celebrating March 7 as the first 'Scooter Day'. Issuing a statement on Monday, MAW Enterprises, the authorized dealer of Yamaha two-wheelers in Nepal, said that it was celebrating the first scooter day to honor contributions that scooters have made in bringing freedom, confidence and empowerment in people's life. 

"The idea of this day is that scooter takes us miles in comfort and gives confidence in style. So, why not we celebrate a joyous day dedicated to our loved scooter," the statement quoted Pradeep Pokhrel, Assistant General Manager at the Marketing and BD of Yamaha Division of MAW Enterprises, is quoted in the statement. 

Number of events like free scooter wash campaign at Yamaha Service Centers are being organized across the country on the day, according to the statement.
