SARLAHI, Jan 9: Police arrested Ram Babu Yadav of Barahathawa municipality-10, Sitapur on charge of jeopardizing peace. Acting on a victim's complaint about charging higher interest rates, police nabbed Yadav from Haripur municipality on a fraud case at the instruction of home secretary, shared Sarlahi Superintendent of Police (SP), Biswomani Pokharel.

Yadav was arrested after extending his remand from District Administration Office, Sarlahi on Wednesday evening on the defrauding case. The pressure was mounted on police to take action against Yadav after the victim met with Nepal Communist Party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', general secretary Bishnu Poudel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and NCP spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha in Kathmandu.
Earlier, police had arrested Shyam Paradeshi of Sarlahi for defrauding hundreds of thousands rupees from innocent locals in the name of interest. He was remanded to custody for necessary investigation
