KATHMANDU, July 19: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of the controversial Constituency Infrastructure Development Fund.


Advocate Anil Acharya, Advocate Radhika Khatiwada, Nanda Raj Upadhyaya and Shyam Bahadur Dhakal filed the petition at the Supreme Court demanding cancellation of Constituency Infrastructure Development Fund.

The Prime Minister’s Office and Council of Ministers Office, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat and Speaker Devraj Ghimire have been made the defendants in the writ petition.  


It is claimed in the petition that although the job of parliament is to make policies and laws, this program was introduced to distribute money to the members of parliament in the name of development.
