KATHMANDU, Oct 14: CPN (Unified Socialist)'s candidate for Rupandehi-2, Raju Gurung has registered a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) against the decision of Election Commission (EC) to scrap his candidacy.
The Office of the Election Officer had canceled the candidacy of Gurung, arguing that he was blacklisted on a banking offense case.

Gurung filed the writ petition on Thursday against the decision of the EC. In the writ, Gurung has demanded an interim order to not implement the decision of the Election Officer to scrap his candidacy.
Spokesperson at the Supreme Court (SC) Bimal Poudel confirmed that the writ petition was registered at the apex court. The hearing on the writ petition has been fixed for Friday.
