KATHMANDU, March 11: The new reality TV show 'World Vlog Challenge' is likely to be broadcast from August, 2020. The show brings together vloggers and influencers from around the world as they happen to be great story-telleres and a major source of information for the younger generation. It will take these challengers to the 'Khumbu Glacier'. The ultimate objective of this adventure is to experience the formation of rivers and tell the story of the Himalayas to the younger generation, the crew members say.

“We felt the need for making a show like this as the younger generation is completely detached with the information about the Himalays and beautiful stories they holds,” said Shree Gurung, Project Chief and Chairman of Partynepal, the event sponsor.

“The project is finally in the process of becoming a reality after seven years of plans  and preparations,” said Gurung who is also a filmmaker with multiple international award winning video projects. Twelve social media sensations from different parts of the world will come together to raise awareness about the impact of global warming in the Himalayan glaciers through a shared journey in this show.

By now the names of only eight of the influencers taking part in this show have been disclosed. It includes YouTube vloggers and social media influencers from a variety of fields from different corners of the world. They are: YouTube vlogger Jeet Selal and actress Aahana Kumra from India, vloggers Steele Davis and Kraig Adams from the USA, Juanes Velez from Colombia , Alex Tienda from Mexico and two beauty paegent title holders from Nepal, Anuska Shrestha – Miss Nepal World 2019 and Niti Shah – Miss Nepal International 2017. The expedition will be guided by multiple mountaineering world record holder Nirmal Purja and other notable legendary mountaineers including Mingma David Sherpa.

“These influencers collectively have over 30 million followers from around the world and we believe this will be one of the biggest social media campaigns in the world,” said Director Simosh Sunuwar. Just like any other reality show, the challenge will be won by one of the participants on the basis of his/her performance in different activities that the participants have to be part of everyday in the journey.

The reality show which is scheduled to be broadcast from mid-2020 will have 15 different episodes  and will showcase 15 days journey of  these influencers toward the Khumbu Glacier.     The show will also attempt to make the world record for the 'highest altitude vloggers/influencers conference on land' and the 'highest altitude podcast on land'.
