PALPA, May 2:: Chairperson of Minimum Wages Fixation Committee, Ganga Parajuli has said that the written complaints regarding to not getting minimum wages by the working journalists were not registered to them in a large scale. He added that though such complaints are plenty in the media, written complaints are less in number.
At an interaction organised by Minimum Wages Fixation Committee at the coordination of Palpa chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists here today, Chairperson Parajuli said that working journalists should be active to get their wages fixed in the Act.
He further urged the media persons not to join works unless they were provided appointment letter and fixed the salary in line with the Act.
The government has fixed Rs 19,500 and Rs 14,100 as minimum wages for working journalists.
Similarly, Founder District President of FNJ Meghraj Sharma stressed the need of giving full shape to the Act as it is still incomplete.
Former Presidents of FNJ Palpa chapter, Govinda Bhattarai, Jhapendra Gaire, Bhagawan Bhandari and incumbent President Rajesh Kumar Aryal, among others stressed the need of distributing proportional advertisement in an equal manner to all. RSS
