Women's T-20 series: Nepal defeats Japan by 45 runs to secure third place

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Nepal has secured the third position in the women's T-20 series involving four countries. In today's match, Nepal became third by defeating Japan by 45 runs.

In the ongoing tournament in Hong Kong, Nepal won the toss and batted first, scoring 115 runs for the loss of five wickets. For Nepal, Puja Mahato scored 43 runs, Roma Thapa scored 22 runs, Rubina Chhetri scored 21 runs and captain Indu Burma scored 12 runs.

On the bowling side, Japan's Ahilya Chandel and Erika Toguchi Quinn took one wicket each.

Chasing a winning target of 116 runs, Japan made 70 runs by losing 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Akari Nishimura scored 29, Hinase Goto scored 16 and Ahilya Chandel scored 11 for Japan.

On the bowling side, Nepal's Sangita Rai, Indu Burma, Sita Rana Magar, Khushi Dangol and Soni Pakhrin took one wicket each.

Nepal, Tanzania and Japan participated in the women's T20 series along with host Hong Kong. Tanzania and Hong Kong are playing for the title today at 11:45 AM.
