KATHMANDU, Sept 7: The Women Forum was launched at the 13th NASeA/ANMA Joint Convention at NC, Charlotte of USA on Tuesday. According to the press statement released by the NASeA/ANMA Joint Convention, a panel of various experts gave video and audio presentations as well as speeches on the topic ‘Domestic Violence and Women Empowerment’ at the program.

Coordinator of Women Forum, Urmila ‘Nirdoshi’, moderated the panel discussion where Attorney General in New York, Girija Gautam, and Board Director of NASeA, Sushma Barakoti, among others, were the panelists. 

Moreover, a documentary was also showcased depicting the life of Hema Petel, a domestic violence survivor and now a successful entrepreneur at St Louis Missouri, US. Meanwhile, various speakers talked about the scenario of domestic violence among the South Asian population living in the US and presented data on how Nepali community members in the US can respond to domestic violence, according to the press statement.
