KATHMANDU, August 15: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government will take necessary initiatives to create an investment-friendly environment by reviving the economy slowed down by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

In a meeting with the delegation of Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) at the latter’s official residence in Baluwatar on Friday, Prime Minister Deuba also said that the government has taken necessary initiatives to provide COVID vaccine to all Nepalis. The delegation reached the prime minister’s official residence to congratulate him for the appointment of the prime minister.

Stating that the government has given priority to vaccination of industrialists, traders and people in various professions and businesses, Prime Minister Deuba also assured to take necessary initiative for the resumption of industries in crisis due to the pandemic.

FWEAN Senior Vice President Neeru Rayamajhi invited Prime Minister Deuba to inaugurate the 5th International Women Entrepreneur Trade Fair-2021 to be organized by FWEAN through virtual medium. While assuring that he would participate in the fair, which will be held through virtual medium even in the midst of the COVID pandemic, Prime Minister Deuba expressed confidence that the program would help bring forward the labor and creativity of women entrepreneurs.

Senior Vice President Rayamajhi informed the Prime Minister that the fair would be held with the objective of identifying women entrepreneurs in the national and international markets and encouraging them to move ahead in the industrial sector.

Similarly, General Secretary Sunita Vaidya Shrestha handed over a demand letter to Prime Minister Deuba requesting the government to provide land for the construction of the FWEAN building. In response, Prime Minister Deuba said that he was positive towards the demand put forward by the federation and suggested identifying the public land for the construction of the building and bringing necessary proposals.

Shova Gyawali, second vice-president of the FEWAN, said that women entrepreneurs across the country had to suffer a lot due to the pandemic. Stating that public health is the first priority, Gyawali also urged the Prime Minister to make arrangements for quick vaccination of all the people.

Stating that the women entrepreneurs want to have more interaction with the Prime Minister on the situation created by COVID-19, Second Vice President Gyawali also hoped that time for the discussion with the Prime Minister would be available soon. While extending congratulations and best wishes for a successful tenure on behalf of the FWEAN, Gyawali said the Nepali people expect economic and social development and political stability from Prime Minister Deuba.
