KAKARVITTA, Nov 20: A woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Sharanamati of Jhapa on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Jhuma Devi Bhattarai, 60, of Sharanamati-4, according to District Police Office spokesperson Hari Bahadur Sharma.
Bhattarai was collecting green fodder for her cattle at the Rani community forest in the morning when she was attacked and trampled to death by the elephant. This is the third person falling prey to wild elephant in Jhapa in the past one month, police said. RSS
