SAPTARI, Oct 20: A woman died on the spot while 26 others were injured in a road accident that took place at Baramjhiya of Kanchanrup Municipality Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Maiya Rai, 21, of Udayapur. According to the local police office in Kanchanpur, eight people who were seriously injured have been sent to Biratnagar for treatment. Another 18 injured people are undergoing treatment at the local Dharmeshwar Hospital.

The accident occurred when the bus en route to Kakarbhitta in Jhapa from Gaighat, Udayapur, tried to avoid a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, police said.
