Woman found dead in corn field in Sarlahi

RAUTAHAT, June 30: The body of a woman was discovered in a corn field in Haripur Municipality, Sarlahi. The deceased has been identified as Krishna Devi Raya, 45, a resident of Haraiya, Haripur Municipality-4. She was found dead in a mysterious  condition in the corn field.

RAUTAHAT, June 30: The body of a woman was discovered in a corn field in Haripur Municipality, Sarlahi. The deceased has been identified as Krishna Devi Raya, 45, a resident of Haraiya, Haripur Municipality-4. She was found dead in a mysterious  condition in the corn field.


Raya had gone to the field to cut grass around 4 PM on Saturday. Her family members searched for her after she did not return home till late evening. When the family members, along with the villagers, were searching for her, they found her dead body in the corn field at around 9:30 PM. Police said that the woman's body was found in her own corn field located about 500 meters east of the house.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Rabindra Kumar Singh, chief of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, said that the incident was suspicious as injuries were seen on the dead body.


The body has been taken to the Provincial Hospital, Malangawa, for a postmortem. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, SP Singh added.
