The consumer committee had announced to start digging the road from the place where Bhabisara’s home is located. “As the committee started digging the road from above the house and her cropfield, the displaced mud buried the field,” said Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Pradip Chettri, adding, “That is why she fed feces to the member of the consumers committee.”

Tej Bahadur had filed a complaint with police after the incident. As per the statement recorded by him, Bhabisara brought feces on a leaf of Sal tree and put it into his mouth. Police have already arrested Bhabisara. She has stated that she took such step in a fit of rage.

According to her, the road was dug up against her consent and it buried her cultivable land. “I repeatedly urged them not to dig the road from above the field but they did not listen. So, I had to feed him feces,” she told police.

Police have filed a case against her for the demeaning behavior. If her crime is proved, she could face up to five years jail and a fine of up to Rs 50,000.
