Woman arrested for character assassination through Facebook

 KATHMANDU, July 11: Police have arrested a woman on the charge of character assassination through Facebook.

The arrested is Ganga Chanda Thakuri, 28, a resident of Surkhet Bheri Ganga Municipality -14. According to Police, Thakuri had uploaded obscene pictures on Facebook creating a fake account of a woman and had tagged her relatives and friends.

The victim had registered a complaint against Thakuri at Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) accusing of character assassination through social networking sites.

Thakuri has been sent to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu for necessary action as per the Electronic Transaction Act
