A man in his late 70s succumbs to the infection at APF Hospital
KATHMANDU, Aug 21: With one coronavirus-related death reported at the Balambu-based APF Hospital, the COVID-19 death toll in the Kathmandu Valley has reached three today.
A man in his late 70s succumbed to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at the APF Hospital, according to an administration staffer at the hospital. “The man – a permanent resident of Saptari district - breathed his last shortly after being admitted to the hospital,” the staffer told Republica.
Earlier in the morning, two COVID-19 patients succumbed to the infection at the Lalitpur-based Patan Hospital. “A 30-year-old woman and a 46-year-old male died while undergoing treatment. The woman hails from Dolakha district, while the man is a resident of Sarlahi district, according to the hospital.
With the addition of three new deaths, the COVID-19 death toll in the Kathmandu Valley has reached 16.
According to the official data of the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 126, with 11,555 active cases.
