Three more COVID-19 related deaths reported in Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 27: Three more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in Nepal on Monday as the national count of COVID-19 cases reached 18,752.

KATHMANDU, July 27: Three more COVID-19 related deaths were reported in Nepal on Monday as the national count of COVID-19 cases reached 18,752.   


According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for MoHP, a 65-year-old Indian national living in Birgunj Municipality-10 died of COVID-19 on July 26 at the Gandak COVID hospital in Birgunj. He was a heart and diabetes patient. 


Similarly, a 36-year-old man from Sahidnagar Municipality-3 of Dhanusha district succumbed to the  coronavirus infection on July 26. He was admitted to the Provincial Hospital, Janakpur, on Saturday after experiencing high fever, continuous coughing and breathing difficulties. Due to lack of medical equipment, he was referred to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, for further treatment. “He breathed his last while being rushed to the BPKIHS,” Gautam said.

Also, a 60-year-old man from Feta Rural Municipality-3 of Bara district died of COVID-19 on Monday. He was undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. He was a kidney patient. 


With this, the number of people dying of coronavirus in Nepal has reached 48 as of today, according to the spokesperson. 


The Heath Ministry also recorded 139 new cases and recovery of 626 COVID-19 patients in last 24 hours.
