With 608 new cases in past one day, Nepal's COVID-19 case tally reaches 257,200

Country’s coronavirus death toll soars to 1,816 

KATHMANDU, Dec 25: Nepal recorded 608 new cases, 892 recoveries and nine deaths linked with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past one day, the Ministry of Health and Population said.

Altogether 608 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the past 24 hours while conducting 4,608 PCR tests at various labs across the country, according to the ministry.

The ministry stated that 257,200 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Nepal as of Friday.

The country has now a total of 7,092 active cases of the coronavirus.

Eight hundred ninety two persons who were earlier infected with the virus recovered from the viral disease in the past one day.

As many as 248,292 people who had earlier tested positive for the virus have recovered as of Friday.

Altogether, 1,816 people, including nine in the past one day, have succumbed to COVID-19 across Nepal so far, the ministry said.
