KATHMANDU, Sept 9: With 1,081 new cases of coronavirus recorded in the past 24 hours, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has reached 49,219.
According to Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, 1,081 new cases of COVID-19 were detected while carrying out 11,167 PCR tests at various labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

Spokesperson Gautam said that 918 persons who earlier tested positive for the virus were discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours.
"With this, the number of COVID-19 infected people to be discharged after full recovery has risen to 33,882," Gautam said.
There are currently 15,025 active cases of coronavirus.
