With 1,041 new cases in last 24 hours, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally surpasses 45,000

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Nepal recorded 1,041 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the national COVID-19 tally to 45,277.

According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 348 females and 692 males tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, 1,566 people who had earlier tested positive for the virus have recovered and returned home. So far, as many as 27,127 COVID-19 patients have recovered and returned home. This figure is 60 percent of the total COVID-19 cases in Nepal.

Likewise, there are currently 17,870 active cases of COVID-19 undergoing treatment at home isolation and other isolation centers. Similarly, 6,561 people are staying at various quarantine facilities across the nation.

In the past 24 hours, 12,473 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests were conducted across the nation.

The MoHP also recorded nine more COVID-19 related deaths on Saturday. With this, the national COVID-19 death toll has reached 280.
